Continuous Circulated Tank Reactors (CCTR): CCTR is a type of low-cost digester is an advanced version over CSTR that is widely used in biogas production. These digesters continuously stir the contents inside the reactor with help of circulation pumps kept outside digester, that supports ease of use and maintenance, which helps to improve the digestion process and increase biogas production. Hycons has adopted CSTR technology to improve their biogas production efficiency.
Hycons has adopted VPSA based biogas upgrading technology that converts the raw biogas produced in the digester into purified biomethane gas. This purified biomethane can be used as a fuel for vehicles or injected into the natural gas pipeline. The upgrading technology increases the value of the biogas produced and reduces the greenhouse gas emissions from the process. VPSA stands for Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption, which is a process commonly used to separate gases from mixtures. In the context of biogas production, a VPSA-based biogas refinery would be a facility that utilizes VPSA technology to remove impurities like, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, Nitrogen, Oxygen and other gases present in raw biogas produced from anaerobic digestion.
